Jeanette Comeau
Viola
Jeanette Comeau completed an Artist Diploma from The Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto where she studied with Steven Dann. Prior to moving to Toronto, she completed a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance with Distinction at the University of Alberta. She studied with Evan Verchomin and Aaron Au while in Edmonton.
In addition to her academic studies, Jeanette has participated in the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute, Le Domaine Forget Chamber Music Programme and the Summer Masterclasses and Opera/Orchestra Residency Programmes at The Banff Centre. She has performed in a number of orchestras including the Royal Conservatory Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, the University of Alberta Symphony Orchestra, the Senior Edmonton Youth Orchestra, and the Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra. She also enjoys performing chamber and solo music and in February 2011, performed the Viola Solo for Harold in Italy by Hector Berlioz with the Concordia Symphony Orchestra.
Jeanette currently performs as a substitute violist with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in addition to performing in the Alberta Baroque Ensemble. She also enjoys teaching viola, violin and piano.
