TAMMY-JO MORTENSEN
Organ
Tammy-Jo Mortensen completed the Master of Music programme at McGill University (Montreal) and a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Alberta. Her teachers have included John Grew, Rejean Poirier, Marnie Giesbrecht and Jacobus Kloppers. She has an extensive church music background as a music director, organist, choir director, singer and handbell ringer.
At present she is the Music Director at Robertson-Wesley United Church, harpsichordist for the Alberta Baroque Ensemble, teaches privately, is a freelance performer, and is the Managing Director of the Sundays at 3 Organ Recital Series. She has attracted many children to music and to the organ through her performances of a musical children's story for organ and narrator, "Jack and the Beanstalk".
